Deery
Series back in action May 20 at Highway 3 Raceway ALLISON, Iowa (May 8) –
With three events and impressive car counts already in the record book, the
2009 Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to action with a Wednesday, May 20
show at Highway 3 Raceway. Pit gates at Allison open
at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. IMCA Late Models take to the
track for hot laps at 6:30 p.m., with the first heat race at 7 p.m. The main
event pays $2,000 to win. Admission to
the grandstand is $15 for adults and $6 for youngsters ages 6-12. Kids five
and under get in free. Information about the
midweek special is available at the
www.highway3raceway.com website. The
series returns to Highway 3 on July 29. Four previous tour events
have been held at Allison since the 2006 season, with two of the wins going
to Terry Neal of Ely. Curt Martin of Independence and Justin Reed of Quincy,
Ill., have also won there. Boone Speedway rolls out
the red carpet for the traditional Memorial Day Deery special on Monday, May
25. Pit gates open at 2 p.m.,
the grandstand opens at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing gets
underway at 5 p.m. Sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Karl
Chevrolet Northern SportMods complete the holiday card. Grandstand admission is
$15 for adults and $5 for kids. Information about the Boone show is

than 55 cars a night for three April events. Mark Burgtorf topped two of
those races in pursuit of a fourth career Deery crown; defending national
champion and fellow Quincy hotshoe Jason Frankel took the opening night
checkers when 66 Late Models were on hand on opening night at 34 Raceway in
