West Union, Cresco Deery Series dates rescheduled

WEST UNION, Iowa (June 22) - Both Deery Brothers Summer Series feature events lost to inclement weather last week are back on the schedule.

IMCA Late Models will return to West Union and Fayette County Speedway on Tuesday, July 14 to complete two "B" races and the main event.

That program had been called after four heat races were completed on June 17. As required by series procedures, any new entries will start at the back of a "B". Rain checks or wristbands can be presented at the gate for admission.

Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5:30 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing to follow.

The Cresco Speedway show rained out on June 16 will be made up on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps will be at 6:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.

Both feature races will pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.

Eight dates are now on the tour schedule during July.

In addition to West Union, the Deery Series is at Independence Motor Speedway on July 1, at Knoxville Raceway during night two of the Harris Clash on July 8, at Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah on July 15, at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa on July 22, at I-35 Speedway in Mason City on July 28, at Highway 3 Raceway in Allison on July 29, and at Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa on July 30.

Drivers who have pre-entered for the Clash and find out later they'll be unable to compete at Knoxville are asked to contact race promoter Bob Harris at 515 231-1748 so they can be replaced by a driver on the waiting list.

Deery drivers are also asked to pre-register for the Sept. 7 series event on opening night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

Pre-registration can be done by calling the IMCA home office at 319 472-2201. The fee will be $20 higher if paid on race day at Boone Speedway.
