Deery doubleheader next at West Union, Decorah

WEST UNION, Iowa (July 10) – The completion of one race program and a first-ever visit to another Northeast Iowa speedplant are next on the schedule for the Deery Brothers Summer Series.

IMCA Late Models travel on Tuesday, July 14 to Fayette County Speedway at West Union to get in two “B” features and the main event rained out last month. The tour then journeys to Upper Iowa Speedway at Decorah for the first time, headlining the Wednesday, July 15 program.

Both main events pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.

Four heat races were in the books at West Union before rain and lightning sent everybody packing on June 17. Rain checks or wristbands can be presented at the gate for admission next Tuesday.

Pit gates and the grandstand will open at 5:30 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing to follow. New entries are welcome and will start at the back of one of the “B” races.

At Decorah, the pit gates and the grandstand will open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing follows.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12.

Youngsters five and under get in free.
