BUSY WEEK AHEAD AT HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY
THREE RACES THIS WEEK!


CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (August 02) — The busiest week of the 2009 Hawkeye Downs Racing season lies just ahead with three events on the calendar.

On Wednesday night, August 5 Clear Channel Radio presents the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series ‘Dirt at the ‘Downs” featuring IMCA Dirt Late Models on the half-mile asphalt track. Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunline Hornets are also on the card.

The action kicks off at 7pm Wednesday night with pre-race ceremonies. Grandstand Gates open at 6pm.

Adult Grandstand Admission is $15, Seniors/Students are $8, and Children are just $1. Pit Passes are $25.

Friday night, August 7 is “Landstar Transportation Wall of Fame Night” with six divisions slated for action along with the induction of a new group to the Hawkeye Downs Wall of Fame. Miller Lite Late Models, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, Nostalgia Stocks, and a special SportMod Topless race are all on the card.
The action kicks off at 7pm Friday night with pre-race ceremonies, including the introduction of the 1600ESPN/KGYM Driver of the Week. Grandstand Gates open at 6pm.
Adult Grandstand Admission is $10, Seniors/Students are $7, and Children are just $1. Pit Passes are $25 for regular events.

Finally, on Saturday afternoon, August 8 the Mid-American Stock Car Series returns to Hawkeye Downs along with an Iowa Enduro Series race. The Mid-American Stock Car Series event was rained out earlier in the season and the full rained out program will be run prior to the Iowa Enduro Series. The Budweiser Sportsmen division at Hawkeye Downs is based on the Mid-AM Stock Cars and many Hawkeye Downs drivers are expected to compete.

The Barron Motor Suppply IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks will be back as well along with IMCA SportMods for a non-points event.

The program kicks off at 1pm Saturday afternoon with pre-race ceremonies. Grandstand Gates open at Noon with the Pit Gate opening at 10am.

Adult Grandstand Admission is $10, Seniors/Students are $7, and Children are just $1. Pit Passes are $30 for this event.
