SEVEN DIVISIONS SLATED FOR ACTION ON “CASEYS GENERAL STORES NIGHT” AT HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (August 13) — Casey’s General Stores presents seven divisions of racing in the Papa Johns/I-Wireless Championship Series at Hawkeye Downs Speedway on Friday night, August 14.

Miller Lite Late Models, Budweiser Sportsmen, Coors Light Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Sunline Hornets are are all on the card. The Coors Light Modifieds will also run an extra feature from a rainout earlier in the season.

Joey Gase continues to hold the lead in Miller Lite Late Models with Brad Osborn twenty points behind Gase. Thor Anderson sits two points behind Osborn with Johnny Spaw and Jim Ross also in the top five.
Dave McCalla leads Budweiser Sportsmen by the slimmest or margins with just a one marker edge over Andy Duggan. Travis Thompson, Bob Ahrendsen, and Kevin Lee round out the top of the order.

Larry Clausen and Tim Plummer remain knotted at the top of the Coors Light Modifieds division. Arlo Becker is close behind in third with Ryan Luedtke and Steve Lindell also in the top five.

Scott Kositzky has visited Coca-Cola Victory Lane four times this season and holds a five-point cushion over Ken Kositzky and Blake Carson in IMCA SportMods. Creston Williams and Tim Dains are also in the top five.

Kurt Bohnsack is on track to win another Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Car title but he has to keep himself ahead of Cory Houdek and Bob Ahrendsen to pull that off. Bohnsack is six points ahead of Houdek. Brian Beaty and David Ballstaedt are also in the top five on the point chart.

Scott Siems is still atop the standings in Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks but Nathan Ballard has been closing ground and is now just 7 points behind Siems. Each has two wins. Roland Bohnsack, Duayne Herb, and Jeremy Robbins are also running in the top five.

Finally, in the wildest class on the track, the Sunline Hornets, Nathan Chandler has moved ahead of Shane Hanson in the standings. Jim Hanson is in third followed by Brad Chandler and Brogan Fiala.
The action kicks off at 7pm Friday night with pre-race ceremonies, including the introduction of the 1600ESPN/KGYM Driver of the Week. Grandstand Gates open at 6pm.

Adult Grandstand Admission is $10, Seniors/Students are $7, and Children are just $1. Pit Passes are $25 for regular events.
