Quincy Raceway to host Deery opener Sunday after
Donnellson rainout, rescheduling at 34
Quincy, Ill. (April 6, 2006) Opening night in the Deery Brothers Summer Series
now moves to Sunday, April 9, at Quincy, Ill., Raceway, after rain wreaked havoc
with a pair of IMCA Sunoco Late Model shows originally scheduled for Friday and
Saturday.
The April 7 program at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson has been canceled,
while the April 8 event at 34 Race-way in West Burlington has been postponed
until April 22.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Sunday at Quincy, which hosts a tour opener for the
first time. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m.
The series then travels to Davenport Speedway and Jackson County Speedway in
Maquoketa for an April 14-15 doubleheader.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Davenport, with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing
at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, Maquoketa opens the pit gates at 4 p.m., hot laps are
at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.
Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City was to have hosted the first Deery
Series event of the season on April 1. That race was also canceled because of
inclement weather.
There are now 18 events on the 2006 Deery Series schedule.
