First points race for Sport Compacts set April 14 at Hamilton
County Speedway
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (March 10, 2007) – IMCA Sport Compact drivers will see their
first green flag Saturday night, April 14 at Hamilton County Speedway.
The Webster City track becomes the seventh sanctioned venue announcing plans to
feature the 4-cylinder front wheel drive class in weekly race programs this
year. Sport Compacts ran at three tracks, in Iowa and Nebraska, during the
division’s introductory 2006 season.
“Sport Compacts will be something new and different to Hamilton County Speedway.
They’ll complement the entire race program,” promoter Al Uhrhammer said. “The
best things about the class are that it is inexpensive and family oriented.
It’s a great way for young people and their families to get involved in racing.”
Sport Compacts take the place of the econo stock class at Webster City, which
also sanctions its Late Model division with IMCA.
Hamilton County Speedway is scheduled to host the opening event in the Deery
Brothers Summer Series for Late Models on April 7.
The regular point season for that division at Webster City runs from April 28 to
Aug. 25.
