Karl Chevrolet in second season as title sponsor for IMCA
Northern SportMod division
ANKENY, Iowa (March 24) – Karl Chevrolet returns this season as title sponsor
for IMCA’s Northern SportMod division.
The Ankeny automotive dealership will furnish a portion of the $2,500 point fund
to be paid out to the top 10 drivers in final national
standings for the class.
Karl Chevrolet will also award a free crate motor to a Northern SportMod driver
attending the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals at
Boone Speedway.
Drivers are required to display two Karl Chevrolet decals on their race cars
during the regular point season and at Super Nationals; they must compete in at
least half the weekly races at an IMCA sanctioned track to be eligible for the
crate motor drawing.
After running at six tracks in two states last year, the Northern SportMods will
be sanctioned at 16 venues in Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota and Wisconsin in
2007.
“The partnership with Karl has been an excellent one for our Northern SportMod
members, and after recent meetings with the team in Ankeny, I am excited about
the direction we are heading again this year,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin
Yoder said. “I think we will see another record car count in Boone this
September and the overall growth of the division will more than double from last
year.”
