Deery dates, Ice Breaker Challenge postponed to April 5-6 EAGLE, Neb. (March 28) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA J & J Steel Late Models was to have seen its earliest opening night during Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge. Mother Nature had other ideas and with forecasts calling for cold, windy and wet weather this weekend, the special has been rescheduled for next Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Gates now open at 11 a.m. Sunday, with 2 p.m. hot laps and 3 p.m. racing. Late Models race for $1,000 to win on Saturday and $2,000 to win on Sunday. A single $50 entry fee will be good for both shows for drivers now pre-entered by April 2. Entries received after next Wednesday are $75, also good for both days. IMCA Sport Compacts and non-sanctioned sprint cars run on Saturday. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and sprints are on the Sunday program. The Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and remains a qualifying event for the 2008 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Hobby Stocks had originally been scheduled to run on Saturday, the Sport Compacts on Sunday. An open practice will be held from 7-10 p.m. Friday, April 4.
