Jackpot Junction Tour gains Nobles County Speedway date WORTHINGTON, Minn. (March 31) – A 12th event is new to the Jackpot Junction Tour, with the addition of Nobles County Speedway to the 2008 schedule. The Friday, June 6 visit to the ¼-mile dirt oval at Worthington will be the first ever for the IMCA KSE Racing Products Sprint Car Series. Hot laps are slated for 7 p.m. that evening, with racing to follow. The dozen dates is the most in the series’ 12-year history and barring any earlier rainouts, the 100th Jackpot race will now be held on July 13 at Redwood Speedway. Opening night is set for April 27 at Kasson Speedway, also site of the July 2 show. Jackson Speedway hosts May 9 and Aug. 15 events. The series is at Arlington Raceway May 24, July 12 and Aug. 30 and also at Redwood on May 25 and Aug. 31. The finale is Sept. 2 at Boone, Iowa, Speedway, during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals. “Securing another race at another track new to the series is great for our drivers and great for race fans,” said tour director Bob Allen, noting first stops at Kasson this season are planned as well. “We’re looking forward to getting the season started.” All feature events pay a minimum of $600 to win, based on 16-car fields. The tour champion will earn a $1,000 share of the $4,650 point fund to be paid to the top 10 drivers. IMCA national and special series points are awarded at each race. Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be given for races at Arlington, Kasson, Jackson, Redwood and Nobles County. Local track points will also be given for each of the three events at Arlington and Redwood. Questions about the Jackpot Junction Tour can be directed to Allen at 507 931-4803. |
