Benton County readies for April 6 opener VINTON, Iowa (April 3) – Track work at the Benton County Speedway is progressing well as final preparations are being completed before the season opener on Sunday, April 6. Approximately 50 truckloads of new black dirt was added to the quarter-mile racing surface last fall. Fans can look forward to fast weekly action featuring the Cassill Motors IMCA Modifieds, Olson Brothers Construction Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, Ron Da Voo Lounge & Deli IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Dominator Chassis IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Dependable Scrappers IMCA Sport Compacts, Gates open every race day at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Grandstand admission for adults and students 13 and older is $9 with kids’ admission $4. Pit passes are $20. No one under the age of 12 will be admitted into the pits. A minor release form must be completed for anyone ages 12 through 17 who wants to be admitted to the pits. That form must be signed by both parents and be notarized.
