$2,100 in lap money added to Modified purse at Hancock County’s Night of 1,000 Stars special BRITT, Iowa (July 29) – A total of $2,100 in lap money has been added to the main event purse at Hancock County Speedway’s Night of 1,000 Stars special. The Thursday, Aug. 7 feature for IMCA Modifieds pays $3,000 to win, with $100 going to the frontrunner on laps 20 and 25 and $50 to the leader on every other circuit in the 40-lapper at Britt. Thirty cars will start the big show, presented by Doug Studer Farms. A minimum of $200 will be paid to make the starting grid and non- qualifiers get $100. The Night of 1,000 Stars is also a qualifying event for the 2009 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars chase a $400 top check. IMCA national and Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be awarded in both divisions. Modifieds earn points in the ButlerBuilt North Central Region and Stock Car points also apply toward Jet Racing Northern Region standings. Pit gates for the 14th annual special open at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m., with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and five and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $25.
