Modified, Late Model, SportMod entries limited for Harris Clash special at Knoxville Raceway

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Jan. 16, 2009) - Pre-entries will be required for all three IMCA divisions running in the July 7-8 Harris Clash at Knoxville Raceway.
A maximum 120 Modifieds take to the track on Tuesday. Late Models following the Deery Brothers Summer Series and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are both limited to 60 entries on Wednesday.

An entry form can be downloaded from the www.harrisclash.com  website and mailed, along with a $50 entry fee, to promoter Bob Harris at Bob Harris Enterprises, PO Box 577 in Roland, Iowa, 50236.

"We are thrilled to have the Late Models join this great event in Knoxville," Harris said. "It should be an exciting two-day show for all involved. It will be great for the fans to be able to come out and see these three classes put on fantastic shows."

Both the Modified and Late Model features are 25 laps and pay $2,000 to win. The Modified main is also a qualifying event for the 2010 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and national, regional and Smiley's Racing Products State points will be awarded.

The 15-lap Northern SportMod feature pays $500 to win, with national and state points given. Special series points only will be given to Deery competitors.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. both days. The draw will close at 6:05 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:15 p.m.

Rain date is July 9. If both July 7 and 8 programs are lost to inclement weather, the Modified show takes precedence.

"I have had several drivers, primarily Late Model drivers, who have already called and wanted to make sure they could get pre-entered and secure their spot at the Clash," Deery Series Director Kevin Yoder said. "There is no better time than the present for drivers in all three divisions to get their entries in."

Information about the 18th annual Clash is available from Harris at 515 231-1748 and at the www.harrisclash.com  website.
