Schaeffer Oil awards prize packages to
Dakota Tour feature winners, champion
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (April 24) – Feature winners and the overall champion of one
of IMCA’s most popular Modified series will receive product awards from
Schaeffer Oil.
Those awards will be presented after each night’s program in the Big Dog
Chassis Dakota Classic Tour, scheduled July 12-17 at tracks in North Dakota
and Saskatchewan.
Schaeffer, based in St. Louis, Mo., will give prize packages that include a
case of racing or automotive motor oil, along with four quarts of gear lube
and a four-pack of diesel fuel additive for use in tow vehicles to winners
of main events at Nodak Speedway, Estevan Motor Speedway, Williston Basin
Speedway, Southwest Speedway and Dacotah Speedway.
Two tour races will be held at Estevan; the champion’s prize package will be
awarded following the finale at Mandan, N.D.
Schaeffer, founded in 1839 and still family-owned, manufactures synthetic
motor oils, fuel additives and lubricants for high- performance, as well as
commercial, agricultural and industrial uses.
An average of more than 50 cars from across the Midwest and Canada were on
hand for each of the six tour events in 2008, a fact not missed by Schaeffer
sales representative and IMCA Modified driver Fran Martin.
“There are a lot of good drivers from the area and from out of state who
follow the tour,” said Martin, who has competed in the open wheeled class
since 1987 and still suits up for one or two series events every summer.
“It’s a lot of fun, it’s a good opportunity to race against different
competition, and I believe it will be a good opportunity for us to introduce
our products to a lot of potential customers.”
“I’ve used these products myself for more than 20 years,” he added.

"As the Big Dog Dakota Classic Tour grows, it is great to involve quality
companies like Schaeffer Oil to add incentive packages for the drivers who
make the mid-summer commitment to participate,” IMCA Marketing Director
Kevin Yoder said. “We hope to grow the Schaeffer program in the coming
seasons to build on the success in North Dakota and Saskatchewan, and offer
racers in other regions the same prize packages."
