“We are moving from what was the two-day Shootout at Marshalltown to give drivers the opportunity to compete at three different facilities for respectable purses,” said IMCA Vice President of Opera tions Brett Root. “The Shootout has had a long and successful history, first at Oskaloosa and more recently at Marshalltown, and that is certainly something we want to continue.”

Buena Vista Raceway’s Kyle Suter Memorial pro gram also includes IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks in $400 to win features, Karl Chev rolet Northern Sport Mods in a $300 to win event and Mach-1 Sport Compacts in a $75 to win race.

The Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models is also on the card at Independence. That event pays $2,000 to win.

Hobby Stocks and Sport Mods round out the night at Marshalltown, in $400 and $300 to win events, respectively.

National, home region and Smiley’s Racing Prod ucts state points will be awarded for each Stock Car show. The top driver in point standings for the three-race swing becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

“The Shootout spot lighted many of the best IMCA Stock Car drivers in the nation and we expect to have the same caliber of competition for the Ameri can Stock Car Series,” Root said. “The purse structure makes it extremely afford able. We’re excited about the potential this series of fers to drivers as well as fans.”
