$1,500 point fund announced for IMCA American Stock Car Series

VINTON, Iowa (June 25) – Next week’s IMCA American Stock Car Series will pay an additional $1,500 to drivers competing in all three tour events.

The top driver in points for the June 30-July 2 series earns a $350 share of the point fund announced today by IMCA. Second place in the standings will pay $250, with $150 for third and $125 for both fourth and fifth.

Sixth through 10th place eligible finishers each get $100.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,000 to win Tuesday, June 30 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta and Wednesday, July 1 at In dependence Motor Speed way. Top prize is $1,250 for the Thursday, July 2 finale at Marshalltown Speedway.

“The point fund is another way we can reward drivers who follow the series all three nights,” IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root said. “It is a very fair complement to the purses that will be paid at each track.”

IMCA national, home region and Smiley’s Racing Products State points will be awarded at each program. The top driver in points also becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.

The Kyle Suter Memorial at BVR also includes IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sun oco Hobby Stocks in $400 to win features, Karl Chev rolet Northern Sport Mods in a $300 to win event and Mach-1 Sport Compacts in a $150 to win race. Division title sponsor Mach-1 added $75 to double the winner’s share in that race.

Late Models following the Deery Brothers Summer Series are also on the card at Independence. That event pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.

Hobby Stocks and Sport Mods round out the night at Marshalltown, in $400 and $300 to win events, respectively.

Information about each upcoming event is avail able from BVR promoter Jeff Herrig at 712 830-1193, from Independence promoter Cam Granger at 563 380-0665 or from Marshalltown promoter Toby Kruse at 515 231-5444.

General information about the series is available from Root at the IMCA home office, 319 472-2201.
