KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 9) – Thursday’s story from Knoxville Raceway is the same as Tuesday’s tale. Rain. Inclement weather has forced a second rescheduling of the IMCA Modified half of the Harris Clash special, this time to Tuesday, July 28. With the maximum 120 Modified pre-entries signed up, the original July 7 opening night program at Knoxville was rained out before heats got underway. Dryer conditions prevailed for Wednesday’s Deery Brothers Summer Series and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod show, but more precipitation today prompted the decision by event promoter Bob Harris and IMCA officials to pull the plug. All pre-entries will be honored and all new entries welcomed on the new race date. The 25-lap feature pays $2,000 to win and is a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. National, home region and Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be awarded. Pit gates will open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $3 for kids. Pit passes are $25 and no one under the age of 16 will be allowed in the pit area. Information about the rescheduled program will be available from Harris at 515 231-1748 and at the www.harrisclash.com website.
