Early entries total 518 for next week’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 5) – A record 518 early entries are in hand for the Sept. 7-12 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

That number includes a handful of entries received Friday but postmarked on or before the Aug. 31 deadline.

A total of 213 drivers registered ahead of time for last year’s Super Nationals, which drew an all-time best 825 cars in six divisions to Boone Speedway.

Modified entries are from 170 drivers representing 18 states:
Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Texas.

One hundred and sixteen Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod entries have been received from seven states: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

The 113 Stock Car entries come from 10 states: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas and Wisconsin.

One hundred and two Hobby Stock drivers are pre-entered from nine
states: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin.

Fourteen Late Model drivers, from Iowa and Illinois, are entered in the opening night Deery Brothers Summer Series feature.

Three entries have been received for the Sept. 8 Sprint Car feature, the final event in the Jackpot Junction Tour.

“A few final details remain to be ironed out, but we anticipate the 27th annual Super Nationals to be the best yet,” said IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “A new qualifying format is in place for Modifieds and Race of Champions events will be held for the first time for both the Hobby Stocks and SportMods.”

“The weather forecast looks outstanding,” he added, “and with the earlier 3 p.m. start, we expect to have each show completed in a timely manner.”

The schedule for the week includes:

Monday, Sept. 7 – Complete Deery Brothers Summer Series Late Model show; Stock Car qualifying; Hobby Stock qualifying.

Tuesday, Sept. 8 – Complete Jackpot Junction Sprint Car Tour show; Stock Car qualifying; Sunoco Race Fuels Stock Car Race of Champions qualifying; last chance Hobby Stock qualifying; Hobby Stock Race of Champions qualifying.

Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Last chance Stock Car qualifying; Modified qualifying.

Thursday, Sept. 10 – Modified qualifying; Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions qualifying; Karl Chevrolet North ern SportMod qualifying; SportMod Race of Champions qualifying.

Friday, Sept. 11 – Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational; Modified qualifying; last chance Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Mod qualifying.

Saturday, Sept. 12 – Last chance Modified qualifying; Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod Race of Champions; Hobby Stock Race of Champions; Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions; Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions; and Sport Mod, Hobby Stock, Stock Car and Modified main events.
