IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers score Dakota Track Side
contingency awards
MINOT, N.D. (April 5) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers competing at special
events and in two special series pocket contingency awards again this season
from Dakota Track Side.
As title sponsor of the Classic Stock Car series, the Minot, N.D., high
performance parts retailer and fuel supplier will provide a portion of the
$1,000 to be paid to top 10 drivers in final point standings for the third
annual tour.
Each of the seven series features July 9-15 at tracks in North Dakota and
Saskatchewan will pay $500 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Drivers
must display two Dakota Track Side decals on their race car to be eligible
for shares of the point fund.
Dakota Track Side also gives $50 product certificates at 15 special events
for the full bodied class, including the June 28-July 1 IMCA Great American
Stock Car Series in Iowa.
Those races are at Marshalltown Speedway, Buena Vista Raceway in Alta,
Independence Motor Speedway and Lee County Speedway in Donnellson and pay
$1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start.
Both the Dakota Track Side Classic Series champion and the top overall
driver in points for the Great American Stock Car Series also become
eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the
IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.
"We are seeing more travelers every year participate in the North
Dakota-based Stock Car tour and that is a direct result of the stability
Dakota Track Side has given to it,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder
said. “Their involvement has been beneficial to a variety of Stock Car
specials and we appreciate their increasing support."
