Few changes in decal program for Modifieds, Stocks, Hobbies,
SportMods
VINTON, IA (April 22) - Contents of the decal packets being delivered this
spring to IMCA drivers should look familiar.
All sponsors part of decal programs for the Modified, Karl Chevrolet
Northern SportMod and Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMod
divisions return in 2010.
Probe Industries is the new title sponsor for IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and IMCA
Sunoco Hobby Stock Northern Regions. New for all Stock Car drivers is
Holley.
"There were not a lot of changes, probably as few in the 10 years I've been
at IMCA," Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "That's good as far as
program consistency goes, for both our drivers and our partnering
contingency award sponsors."
Packets have already been mailed to all drivers who have completed the
license application as of March 24. Drivers should receive packets within
five business days after the application is called in or delivered to the
home office.
"As has been the case for several seasons, drivers must not only display
required decals on their race car to be eligible for national or regional
point fund checks, they must mail or email pictures of their car proving
decal placement no later than Aug. 1," Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said.
"It is extremely important that drivers make themselves eligible to receive
shares of what is literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and
product awards."
"Aug. 1 is also the deadline for completing and submitting sign-up forms
included in decal packets and rookie of the year applications," he added.
"No exceptions will be made, so I suggest drivers get their car pictures
taken and all the forms filled out to make themselves eligible for
post-season cash and contingency awards."
Drivers in all divisions again receive Speedway Motors Weekly Racing decals,
which are to be displayed on both sides and on the right rear of their car.
All other required decals must be placed in designated locations on the door
panel while regional title sponsor decals are to be affixed at the top and
front of the door panel on each side of the car.
In addition to regional sponsor ButlerBuilt, decals included in Modified
packets are Comp Cams, Engine Pro, Icon, Jaz Products, Performance Bodies
and SuperFlow.
While Probe is new for the Northern Stock and Hobby regions, Stephenville
Starter returns as sponsor of Southern regions for both divisions.
Along with Holley, required decals for the Stock Cars include Fast Shafts,
Intercomp, Quick Time and Sunoco Race Fuels.
The decal program for Hobby Stocks also includes Sunoco, as well as JR
Motorsports and Performance Bodies.
Karl Chevrolet sponsors the Northern SportMod division and Southwest Racing
Specialties sponsors the Southern SportMods.
Bas sett, JR Motorsports, Kluhsman Racing Components and Smiley's Racing
Products round out the SportMod programs.
Mach-1 returns as title sponsor for Sport Compacts and those decals must be
displayed on both door panels, directly below the Speedway Motors Weekly
Racing decal.
Modified, Late Model, SportMod and Stock Car drivers are also required to
display Hoosier decals above the rear tire on both sides of their car.
"Wraps have become increasingly popular," noted Yoder, "and any driver
planning to go that route with their car can contact me and I will email the
required decals to whoever is doing the wrap for them."
Special series decals will be available at all tour events throughout the
season, including the Deery Brothers Summer Series, the Big Dog Chassis
Dakota Classic Tour for Modi fieds, the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour,
the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour, the Larry Shaw Racing Blood, Sweat and
Tears Series the World Products Empire State Modified Series and the Dakota
Trackside Dakota Classic Tour for Stock Cars.
