INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (May 3)
– Opening night for the inaugural JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour is set
for Tuesday, May 11 at Independence Motor Speedway. The first of 10 series
races this season for IMCA Modifieds pays $1,000 to win and is a qualifying
event for the 2010 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks
and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the Modified Mayham
special program, sponsored by the Edgewood Locker. Pit gates open at 4 p.m.
and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. The drivers’ meeting is at 6:30 p.m. with
hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing to follow Grandstand admission is
$12 for adults with kids 11 and under admitted free. Pit passes are $25 More

website. Modifieds race for IMCA
national, ButlerBuilt North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and
special series points. Twenty-four cars will make the main event, which pays
a minimum of $125 to start. Non-qualifiers get $75. National and state points
will be given in the Hobby Stock and SportMod divisions; Hobby drivers also
contend for Probe Industries Northern Region points. Both of those features
pay $300 to win. The series is at I-35
Speedway in Mason City on Memorial Day Monday, May 31 before venturing to
Fayette County Speedway at West Union for a Tuesday, June 15 show.
