19th annual Harris Clash at Knoxville Raceway July 6-7

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 2) – The 19th annual Harris Clash special will be Tuesday and Wednesday, July 6-7 at Knoxville Raceway.

IMCA Modifieds fill the opening night card, running for $2,000 to win in a 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. Night two features the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models in an­other $2,000 to win headliner, along with Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport­Mods in a $500 to win race.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. both days, hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $3 for kids. Pit passes are $25 and no one under the age of 16 will be allowed in the pit area.

IMCA national and Allstar Performance state points will be awarded in the Modified and Northern SportMod divisions. Home region points will also be given for Modifieds. Special series points only will be given to Deery drivers.

Early entries numbered 170, including 80 Modifieds, 68 Northern SportMods and 22 Late Models.

Jay Noteboom prevailed in the 2009 Clash for Modifieds, an event postponed twice because of inclement weather.

Six-time and defending series champion Jeff Aikey has won two of the five previous Deery features at Knox­ville. Tommy Elston was the winner there last year.

Matt Lettow was the Northern SportMod winner in 2009.
