KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 6) – Too much rain over the holiday weekend and forecasts for more precipitation today have postponed this evening’s 2010 Harris Clash for IMCA Modifieds at Knoxville Raceway until Thursday, July 8. Wednesday’s Deery Brothers Summer Series program for IMCA Late Models and the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods at Knoxville have been rescheduled until Wednesday, July 28. Pit gates will open at 2 p.m. for both re-scheduled shows, event promoter Bob Harris announced. The draw ends at 6 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at approximately 7:15 p.m. All tickets and passes sold or issued for the original race dates will be honored Thursday night or July 28, respectively. Early morning showers across the Knoxville area were coupled by a soggy forecast, prompting the quick decision to reschedule. “The amount of rain Knoxville has had as well as the forecast for this evening does not give drivers the best racing conditions,” acknowledged Harris. “We hope by getting the notice out early more of the drivers traveling from great distances will be able to reschedule and attend on the new dates.” The Modified feature pays $2,000 to win and is a qualifying event for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The Deery feature also pays $2,000 to win while the Northern SportMod main pays $500 to win.
