LAKEVILLE,
Ind. (Oct. 4) – IMCA has renewed its contract
with Hoosier Racing Tire through the 2015 season. Hoosier will
continue to manufacture and distribute the IMCA stamped G60-15 tire for the
Modified, Stock Car and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod divisions; the IMCA
SCL stamped tire for Late Models; and the IMCA stamped 500 tire for
Southwest Racing Specialties Southern
SportMods. “We requested proposals
from multiple racing tire manufacturers,” IMCA Vice President of Operations
Brett Root said. “We elected to continue our relationship with Hoosier Tire
based on those proposals.” “Hoosier is the largest
manufacturer in the industry and they produce a tire that is well within the
criteria we feel meets the needs of our member drivers,” he added. The
Lakeville, Ind., company
will continue contributing to national point funds for each of the five
divisions and give contingency awards at the IMCA Speedway
Motors Super Nationals. “IMCA has
had an exclusive
spec tire rule for almost 30 years,” Root said. “That rule has proven cost
effective for competitors regardless of
the supplier.” The initial
five year contract with Hoosier began
in 2006 and continues through 2010.
