Chase for JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour crown comes to
Buena Vista Raceway
ALTA, Iowa (July 29) – Ryan Dolan and Mark Elliott take their chase for the
JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour championship to Buena Vista Raceway on Aug.
3.
Dolan now leads Elliott by a single point in the IMCA Modified series
standings.
At stake next Wednesday, in addition to the top spot in the point race, is a
$1,000 winner’s check and a spot on the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star
Invitational ballot.
Pit gates at Alta open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps
are at 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $10, with kids 12 and under admitted free. Pit

Also on the weekly program are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby
Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. All
IMCA divisions will race for all applicable points, including local track
points for Modifieds.
Clayton Christensen became the seventh different winner in as many HDT races
this season last week at Hancock County Speedway.
Other visitors to victory lane have included Ron Barker, Elliott, Vern
Jackson, Michael Long, Josh Ruby and Dustin Smith.
One hundred and three drivers have competed at one or more tour events so
far in 2011.
The tour’s first two-day show is Sept. 16-17 during the Yankee Dirt Track
Classic at Farley Speedway. Marshalltown Speedway hosts the final series
events of the season Sept. 23-24 with separate Havoc On The High Banks
programs.
Each feature pays $1,000 to win.
