JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour has a dozen dates for IMCA Modifieds VINTON, Iowa (Jan. 24) – A dozen dates are on tap in the third annual JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds. Top prize each night is a minimum of $1,000, making all 12 shows qualifying events for 2012 or 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballots. Opening night is Tuesday, May 8 at Benton County Speedway in Vinton. Mason City’s I-35 Speedway hosts the Memorial Day special on Monday, May 28. Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City follows on Tuesday, June 5. Modifieds join IMCA Late Models and the Deery Brothers Summer Series at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton on Tuesday, June 12, then headline the Mighty Howard County Fair program at Cresco Speedway on Thursday, June 21. The series is at Algona Raceway on Tuesday, July 3 before another fair date on Tuesday, July 17 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. Hancock County Speedway at Britt’s Thursday, Aug. 9 Night of 1,000 Stars special does double duty as an HDT event, as do Yankee Dirt Track Classic races Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15 at Farley Speedway and Havoc On The High Banks features Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22 at Marshalltown Speedway. North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded each night. Points also figure toward the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national crown. JR Motorsports has been title sponsor of the tour since its inception. Defending champion is Mark Elliott of Webster City.
