Waterman, Morris and Gustaf Repeat at Quad City Speedway as
Spicer Gets His First

EAST MOLINE, IL (June 4, 2006) - An enthusiastic crowd and a full pit area graced Quad City Speedway Sunday and the racing kept the crowd into the action all night long. The first feature to hit the speedway wqas the Best Choice-Racer;s Edge B Modified feature. Natahan Hall led the first lap with third heat winner Jordan Schram taking over on lap two. On a fourth lap restart seventh place starter and second heat winner, Jake Waterman went to the front and never let up the rest of the way. Waterman took his second win of the season as he held off the challenges of second place Jason Pershy and third place Mitch Morris. Kevin Dickey was fourth with Schram holding on for fifth. George Hubbard took the other heat.
Pole sitter, Cory Goldbeck led the first lap of the IMCA Late Model feature with Mike Cothron taking over on a second lap restart. By lap seven Cothron was holding off the challengers of Ron Gustaf, then the challenges of Rob Toland by lap eleven. At Lap sixteen Eric Gustaf moved up into third and a three car battle was on for the win. The three battled therest of athe way with Cothron still leading going into turn one on the last lap. Going down the back stretch Eric Gustafg moved out front and coming off of aturn four Toland squeezed by Cothron. Gustaf took his second win season with Toland second and Cothron third. Ray Guss Jr came from thirteenth starting spot to take fourth with Kevin Blum fifth. Jason Parrish, Eric Gustaf and Cory Goldbeck took the heat wins.
After two cautions before the race got started Mike Zemo Jr led the first lap of the IITI-Reynold's Ford Open Wheel Modified feature with Milo Veloz Jr taking over on lap two. With three laps to go eighth place starter, Jeff Morris moved outfront and the caution flew to leave a two lap dash for the victory. Morris held on for his second trip to Quad City Speedway;s victory lane this season. Marty Thompson move in to take second on the white flag lap and Veloz held on for third. Brandon Durbin was fourth with eighteenth place starter, Troy Emerick fifth. DougCrampton and Durbin were awarded atahe heat wins.
After three cautions on the first lap the J & J Camper Street Stock feature
settled down with second heat winner Toby Spicer in lead and first heat winner,
Rob Henry putting the pressure on. Henry even edged out front a couple of laps
before Spicer took over for good on the seventh lap. Spicer went on for his
first win of athe year with Henry a close second and Korey Peterson a close
third. Chris Lawrence was fourth with Dave Wadsager fifth.
