Macomb Raceway with New Management
MACOMB, IL (Feb. 24, 2007) - Any racers current or former that have raced at
Macomb Speedway in the past we are pleased to announce that the track has
changed hands and will now be known as Macomb Raceway. Rob Giles, of Macomb, has
entered into an agreement with former promoter Bill Goddard to lease and
purchase the track.
Dewain Hulett will be the new promoter, with many improvements to be made
before the racing season starts (tentatively scheduled for May 12).
Modifieds, Street Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Cruisers, TQs and 4 cylinder Wild Things
will for sure be making their return to the track. We would also like to have
Late Models return on a weekly basis this season as well, but need to hear from
interested Late Model Drivers.
There will be guaranteed payouts for each class, and there will be levels of payout that correspond with the number of cars in the class.
If you would like more information about the new plans at Macomb Raceway checkout www.macombraceway.com regularly for updates, also you can call 309-299-7223 (RACE) (The Promoters Phone) or e-mail at promoter@macombraceway.com
Also, there are two driver’s meetings currently scheduled to try to get input from any interested drivers. The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at Diamond Daves in Macomb. The second is scheduled for Sunday, March 11, at 3 p.m. at Diamonds Daves in Macomb. The tentative schedule and payouts will be handed out at that time.
Again if you have any questions please reply here or contact the promoter at
any of the above locations.
