Shryock Takes 1st Annual Spring Clash!!!

EAST MOLINE, IA. (April 16) - The "King" of modified racing, Kelly Shryock held off UMP regulars Chad Kinder and Jeff Leka to take home the $2000 top prize for the winning the 1st Annual USMTS Spring Clash. For the first half of the 40 lap main event Leka and Shryock were battling it all over the track then Leka pulled in the infield and called it a night.

On one of the restarts Shryock moved out to go size lead and Chad Kinder started to make up some ground on him but Shryock was able to hold him off to take the checkered flag. USMTS regulars Zack VanderBeek and Steve Arpin had excellent runs too. Local favorites Donovan Lodge and Jeff Morris proved they knew the quick way around QCR.

Lodge started 14th and finished 6th and Morris started 21st and finished 7th. Heat races were won by Richie Gustin, Jr., Al Henja, Chad Kinder, Ryan Gustin, and Jay Noteboom. Donovan Lodge and Brad Pinkerton won the B-Mains. Support class features went to Jeremy Campbell in the 01J 4 Cylinder, Ron Marks Jr. in the 01 Street Stock, and Noah Coppess in the 61 B-Modified.
