MACON SPEEDWAY THIS WEEK – WELCOME SPRING
MACON, IL (April 18) - Spring weather has descended upon Central Illinois once again and the team at Macon Speedway is thrilled. Three straight weather cancellations have racers and fans chomping at the bit to take in the action-packed racing at the racy 1/5 mile this Saturday, April 21.
Easter Fun originally scheduled for the April 7 event has been moved forward to this Saturday, complete with candy and prizes for the children. Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2007 is the addition of the C.A.R.S. Late Models.
Fans and racers in attendance on Opening Night, March 31, will be able to use
their tickets and wristbands as “rain checks” for free admission to the April 21
racing program. In addition, any fans with guest passes for the April 7 or April
14 nights of racing will be able to present them on Saturday.
On Saturday, April 21, gates at Macon Speedway will open at 5:00 PM. Racing
starts at 7:00.
General Admission is $10.00 for weekly races at Macon Speedway. Children 12
and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $25.

Saturday, April 28, Macon Speedway will host driver/sponsor appreciation with a special time for fans to meet their favorite drivers and take home pictures and autographs. Advance reserved seat tickets for NASCAR Nights I and II and III (May 28, June 14 and July 20) will go on sale May 1.
On May 5, a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is planned and it will be the first night of Kids Club activities at Macon Speedway.
May 5 will be the first of Kenny’s Krazy Kar Kapers. A lucky fan will win a previously-owned Chevrolet vehicle sponsored by Ewing Auto Sales.
May 12 is Meridian School night honoring the students and faculty of the
Meridian School District plus special attention to our Mom’s and a Crazy Chicks
n Cars ladies race in the Hornet cars.
NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and local Promoter Bob
Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
