Season Opener at Quad City Raceway!!!
by: Brad Hines
EAST MOLINE, IL (April 25) - After two Sunday nights of racing, Quad City
Raceway is ready to begin the 2007 points battle. This Sunday, April 29th, will
be opening points night in all five divisions.
One of the five divisions running every points night will be the 4 Cylinders.
This class is new to QCR and is a great way for beginners to get started in
racing. It should be interesting to see what these cars do on the high banks at
Quad City Raceway.
Also running will be the Fields of Pizza Street Stocks. This division has really
grown and grown the last few season and should put on some great shows in ’07.
The Best Choice Meat Market / Racers Edge B-Modifieds are back for another
season as well. This is one of the fastest growing divisions in the Midwest.
With a good mix of young drivers and seasoned veterans this division should be
very exciting this season.
Some of the best races the last few seasons at QCR have come from the super
competitive A-Modified division. The 2007 season shouldn’t be any different with
some of the best drivers around battling it out side by side every Sunday night.
The Builders World IMCA Late Models will be racing every Sunday not only for
track points but IMCA national points too. Some of the best drivers in the
eastern Iowa and western Illinois will square off on the ¼ mile each Sunday.
If the racing during the first two Sunday nights at QCR is any indication of
things to come, 2007 should be one of the most exciting seasons Quad City
Raceway has ever seen.
