MACON SPEEDWAY THIS WEEK – MERIDIAN SCHOOL NIGHT, SALUTE TO
MOMS, CRAZY CHICKS N CARS

MACON, IL (May 9) - Macon Speedway is committed to providing wholesome family
entertainment and supporting the local community. On Saturday, May 12, Macon
Speedway welcomes the students and faculty of the Meridian School district. All
students and faculty members will be admitted free with identification. Children
12 and under are always admitted free at Macon Speedway. Meridian School
students sold tickets to the Meridian School night at the Speedway as a
fundraiser. A portion of every ticket they sold will support future Meridian
School activities and projects.
Mother’s Day is Sunday and Macon Speedway has not forgotten our Moms. The first
200 mothers to enter the Speedway Saturday night will receive a free carnation
courtesy of Zip’s Flowers by the Gates in Decatur. Moms can enter to win a
variety of prizes.
Adding to the already action-packed Saturday night race program will be a ”Crazy
Chicks n Cars” race. Ladies will take to the track in the 4-cylinder Hornet cars
for a special event.

Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late
Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2007 is the
addition of the C.A.R.S. Late Models.
On Saturday, May 12, gates at Macon Speedway will open at 5:00 PM. Racing starts
at 7:00.
General Admission is $10.00 for weekly races at Macon Speedway. Children 12 and
under are admitted free. Pit admission is $25. Full season reserved seats are

Advance reserved seat tickets for NASCAR Nights I and II and III (May 28, June
14 and July 20) are presently on sale. Call 217-764-3000 or 217-764-3200 to
order your reserved seat today! May 19 will be the first race in the “Fast Five
Racer Appreciation Series”. Late Models will be racing for $1500 to win, special
product prizes and an opportunity to win a Cruise for Two! May 26 is Kids Night
with Quacky the Clown and Box Car Races for the Kids. NASCAR Night I on May 28
features the Northern All Stars Late Model Series and NASCAR Stars Clint Bowyer,
Kevin Harvick, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be in attendance.
NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and local Promoter Bob
Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
