Pair of Top 5’s Last Weekend and Harris Clash Up Next For
McGee
GALESBURG, IL (July 11, 2007) - Dean McGee and the H7 Racing Team opened
up the first weekend in July with a couple of solid runs across the Mississippi
River in Iowa. On Friday, July 6th McGee traveled to the Lee County Fair Race
located in Donnellson, Iowa for an IMCA weekly point’s event. That night, McGee
would post a 3rd place finish in the heat to make the invert for the A-Main.
After getting off to a rough start at the beginning of the event and getting
shuffled to the back, some cautions helped McGee get back to the front. McGee
would settle for a 3^rd place finish. On Saturday the team traveled to 34
Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa for an IMCA weekly point’s event once again. A
6th place start in the heat race didn’t set McGee back has he made his way to
the front and did battle with two others. With an exciting 3 car battle going
on, McGee made attempts for the lead, but settled for a strong 2nd place finish.
With the A-Main invert and a strong point average, this put McGee in the 11th
starting spot for the A-Main. After the dust and checkers flew on that event,
McGee came home with a strong 4^th place finish on the evening.
This upcoming weekend, McGee and the H7 IMCA Modified will not be racing
anywhere. Although, preparations will be taking place for the upcoming Harris
Clash located on the fairgrounds of the famed ½ mile in Knoxville, Iowa on
Thursday July 19^th . This race will be a good challenge for McGee as this event
usually draws an average of 100 IMCA Modified with the best drivers in the
country pre-entered. The following night after The Harris Clash, McGee will
travel to Lee County Speedway in Donnelson, Iowa, then onto 34 Raceway in West
Burlington, Iowa, with both races being weekly IMCA point’s nights.
