O’Reilly Midwest All Stars Head to West Plains Motor Speedway , Quincy Raceways by Robert Cortum - Midwest All Star Series CAMARGO, IL (Sept 16) - As the season begins to wind down, the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series focus on two highly anticipated events this Saturday and Sunday. The series will first travel to the West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri on Saturday, September 20th, and then head to Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois on Sunday, September 21st. West Plains Motor Speedway is excited to bring the series to their facility in 2008. The track features some of the best racing weekly racing in the country and is home to the famous Show-Me 100. Known for its fan-friendly amenities and the always well prepared track, help make this a much anticipated event. Quincy Raceways decided to bring back the “Best in the Midwest” for a second time in 2008 after having a very successful event earlier in the season. The reconfigured facility featured multiple-groove racing when the series visited in the early part of June in 2008. On board for the weekend will be the superstars of the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series plus some of the best regional talent. Danny Smith has made the commitment to traveling west this weekend in an attempt to garner additional wins to his already swelling victory count. However, series point leader Jerrod Hull and current runner-up Ryan Bunton will be prepared to do battle. So far this season, Smith has 2 victories with the series, Hull has matched that, and Bunton has scored 1. Bunton, additionally, leads the way with the most Dash victories. This is the series first visit to West Plains and marks the second visit for Quincy, where Hull took top honors. The “Best in the Midwest” will also feature some of the best young talent as 2008 Rookie of the Year candidates Miranda Throckmorton and Kody Kinser will square of with the 2007 top rookie Brad Greer eager for his first victory.
