MACON SPEEDWAY WELCOMES AREA CHURCHES AND THEIR PASTORS AS WE
RUN THE ANNUAL FASTER PASTOR RACE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!!
MACON, IL (June 10) - Macon Speedway welcomes area Pastors this Saturday to
take in an exciting night of racing action on the fast 1/5 mile oval. Area
pastors will take to the track in 4-cyl Hornet cars racing for the
distinction of “Faster Pastor”. Special admission pricing is available for
congregations and youth groups coming out to Macon Speedway to support their
pastor. The CILSSS Series will be back in action with our UMP Street Stock
division racing for $500. Last time the Street Stocks raced in the CILSS
series was on May 24 and the prevailing winner was Troy Dodson of Cerro
Gordo, IL. All 6 UMP divisions will be racing Saturday night. The UMP Late
Model division is heating up after last weekend’s Lite Beer Twin 50’s
crowned a new winner; Steve Sheppard Jr.
Top points runners, Kyle Logue, Cisco, IL and Chris Dick, Deland, IL will be
in attendance to try and gain the needed points to send them to the top of
the standings without a tie. Dave Crawley Jr. aka “Elvis” of Decatur, IL is
sitting at the top of the point standing in our UMP Modified division with a
lead over second runner up Joe Strawkas, Buffalo, IL by 22 points.
Gates open at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 13 and the UMP Late Models will
qualify at 7:00 PM. Admission is $10 for adults and children 12 and under
admitted free.

June 20 is Dear OL Dad Night honoring all the Dad’s at Macon Speedway that
evening. We will also be hosting a driver autograph session with our local
Macon Speedway drivers.
June 27 will be another exciting night of weekly racing featuring our kid’s
club box car races.
July 2 is the Herald & Review 100 UMP Summernationals featuring the a
hundred lap feature event for the UMP Late Models and also featuring our
Street Stock divisions and UMP Modified division. Advance tickets go on sale
June 18 at the Herald & Review, adult tickets are $18 in advance and
children are $5.
July 4 join us for the 95Q Firecracker 40’s and the Midwest Big Ten Series
plus a huge FIREWORKS display!!!!
