MACON SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES TWO DAY SHOW FOR POWRi MICRO’S
MACON, IL (July 29) - Macon Speedway and POWRi are proud to announce that
the Micro’s will be running a special two day show Friday, August 21 and
Saturday, August 22. Racers are encouraged to spend the weekend at Macon
Speedway and camping is allowed and always free. The weekend will consist of
POWRi Midgets and Micros and our UMP Modified division on Friday night, then
on Saturday night we will feature the POWRi Micros again plus our UMP Late
Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pro and Amateur Hornets. The UMP
Touchstone Energy Sportsman will have the Friday and Saturday special event
weekend off to prepare for the huge Sportsman Nationals at the Illinois
State Fair on Sunday, August 23. This new scheduling announcement makes the
weekend of August 21 & 22 a huge weekend of racing for open wheel fans with
3 races in two days! The races at the Illinois State Fairgrounds feature the
USAC Silver Crown cars on Saturday, August 22 competing in the Tony
Bettenhausen 100 then back again on Sunday with the ARCA REMAX Car Series
battling for the win in the Allen Crowe Memorial along with the Sportsman
Nationals, both races begin at 1:00 pm. Don’t miss your chance to cheer on
the local Macon Speedway drivers in the Sportsman Nationals on Sunday!
Plenty of good seats are still available for the upcoming Night of Nascar
Stars II to be held on September 2 featuring Tony Stewart, Mark Martin and
Ken Schrader. We have lots still planned for 2009 so be sure to come join
Macon Speedway for an action packed end to the summer.
Gates will open at 5:00 and racing will start at 7:00.
