MACON SPEEDWAY PRESENTS CROMWELL GROUP ½ PRICE FAN
APPRECIATION NIGHT PLUS SPORTSMAN QUALIFIER
MACON, IL (August 11) - Macon Speedway will be back in action after two
weeks off and will be hosting the ½ price fan appreciation night this
Saturday night, August 15. ½ price fan appreciation night will allow Macon
Speedway patrons to get into the night’s race for only $5 and children 12 &
under will be admitted for free. Macon Speedway values their loyal fans and
wants them to know that they appreciate them coming out and supporting the
racers each and every Saturday night. Fans will also be treated to a
Sportsman Qualifier race where the UMP Touchstone Energy Sportsman will have
one more chance to qualify to enter the “Super Bowl of the Year” race; the
Sportsman Nationals held at the Illinois State Fair on August 23. Macon
Speedway will also be hosting another Kids Club meeting. All UMP divisions;
Late Models, Modifieds, Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Street Stocks and Pro
and Amateur Hornets will be in attendance racing for the checkered flag.
The points race is heating up in all divisions as Macon Speedway will race
it’s first race in August. The Late Model division is still being led by
Cisco’s Kyle Logue racing his #21 Sav Mor Pharmacy. Kyle holds off Chris
Dick by a mere 72 points. The UMP Modified division is being led by #28, Joe
Strawkas of Buffalo, IL. The UMP Sportsman division is the closest race with
Rick Roedel of Shelbyville, IL leading Taylorville’s own Scott Landers in
his #41 Sportsman by 16 points. Blake Shelly of Oakley, IL leads the Street
Stock division and Sam McCoy and Joe Reed lead the Hornet divisions. Don’t
miss your chance to see if these winners will hold off their second and
third place competition another exciting week of racing at Macon Speedway.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Macon Speedway is proud to bring one of the most exciting open wheel
weekends of the summer coming up on Friday, August 21 and Saturday August
22. The POWRi Midgets and Micros will be in action again at Macon Speedway
on Friday, August 21 along with the UMP Modified division. Then action then
shifts to Saturday, August 22 for a double header. The racing kicks off at
the Illinois State fair with the Tony Bettenhausen 100 where the USAC Silver
Crown cars will compete in the 100 lap feature event, then come back to
Macon Speedway and enjoy a full schedule as the POWRi Micros will be
completing another race in the POWRi Summer Series where Ryan Langston leads
the summer points standings. The POWRi Micros will be joined by the UMP Late
Models, Modified, Street Stocks and Hornets. The UMP Touchstone Energy
Sportsman will have the night off to prepare for the Sportsman Nationals.
Also coming up at Macon Speedway on September 2, don’t miss your chance to
see Tony Stewart, Mark Martin and Ken Schrader at Macon Speedway for our
