Macon Speedway Hosts 5th Annual IL State Street Stock Championship

MACON, IL (Sept. 15) - Macon Speedway will host the 5th Annual IL State Street Stock Championship race this Saturday, September 19.   The nights Street Stock Championship race will include a $1,000 dollar to win purse, plus the Street Stocks will be qualifying for their starting positions in their heat races.  Also on the racing card for this Saturday, September 19, will be the UMP Modified, Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Pro and Amateur Hornets and POWRi Micros.  Don’t miss your chance to be one of the final Best Fan in the Stands winners, as we only have two more chances to win in 2009.  Last week’s Best Fan in the Stands was unclaimed so its $200 to this week’s lucky fan. 

The Macon Speedway point’s races are tightly contested as we enter the final two nights of racing in 2009 at Macon Speedway.  The UMP Late Model Champion title goes to Kyle Logue for the second year in a row.  The UMP Modified race is still up in the air with Dave Crawley Jr. AKA “Elvis” in the lead with Joe Strawkas close behind with only 46 points between them.  The UMP Touchstone Energy Sportsman division is also a tight race with Taylorville’s Scott Landers only 20 points behind Touchstone Energy’s driver, Rick Roedel.  The Street Stock drivers will hope to gain ground this weekend as the season draws to a close soon.  Steve Ewing in his Lightning McQueen car is looking for a way to edge out Blake Shelley, as Shelley leads the division by a mere 4 points.  Shelley and Ewing will both be hoping to take the checkered flag as the $1,000 to win purse is also up for grabs this weekend.  The Amatuer Hornet division is being lead by Sam McCoy and the Hornet division finds Joe Reed on top driving his number 7 hornet.  Don’t miss the racing action in the month of September to see who will be the next driver to be crowned “Macon Speedway Champion 2009”.

Macon Speedway and Skeff Distributing will host the POWRi Midgets and Micros plus UMP Modified, Street Stocks and Pro and Amateur Hornets for the season finale on September 26.
