MACON, IL (August 26) - Macon Speedway is excited to announce with the help of Shriner Hospitals for Children the popular Midwest Big Ten Series will be back in action this Saturday night at Macon Speedway as part of the Shrine 50 event. Morgan County Speedway, Jacksonville, IL, and Shepps Speedway, Alexander, IL have teamed up with Macon Speedway for our promotion, the “Midwest Big Ten Series”. Each of the ten races will include larger winnings to the winner of the feature. At the end of the season the points each driver has accumulated in those 10 races will be totaled and there will be $10,000 distributed throughout the top ten Late Models. This Saturday night the UMP Late Model winner will win $1,500 plus if they are a Crate Late Model they will pick up a bonus of $100 bringing their winnings to $1,600! Don’t miss an exciting night of racing at Macon Speedway featuring 5 UMP divisions. So far with only two races left, the Big Ten Late Model Series finds #25 Steve Lance Jr in first place. Closing in on Lance is Kyle Logue in his 21 Late Model sitting in second place. Lance and Logue are being closely followed by a Late Model driven by Roger Brickler in his green and white number 82. This weekend’s events will be crucial for all three drivers leading the point’s standings to sustain their point’s leads. With over 50 cars so far competing in the series we expect a thrilling 50 lap feature from the UMP Late Model for the 1st Annual Shrine 50. The final race in the series will take place at Macon Speedway on September 18 for a 50 lap feature during the Miller Lite Beer Twin 50’s. Macon Speedway is located 9 miles south of Decatur, IL on US 51 then .6 miles west on Andrews Street, then south on Wiles.
