DEI Testing at Iowa Speedway Rescheduled to August 28-29
NEWTON, IA (Aug 20) - The persistent rains affecting NASCAR's 3MPerformance 400
at Michigan International Speedway have caused a one week delay in the
appearance of the Dale Earnhardt Incorporated (DEI) team at Iowa Speedway. The
"Test Fest", originally scheduled for August 21-22, has been rescheduled to
August 28-29, with DEI's Dale Earnhardt Jr, Paul Menard, and Martin Truex Jr,
scheduled to prepare for late season Cup and Busch series races, along with
other NEXTEL Cup teams.
Earnhardt, the son of late racing great Dale Earnhardt, Sr., is the most popular
NASCAR driver today. He and Truex Jr are also among the top points drivers in
the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and are competing for one of 12 spots in NASCAR's
year-end competition, The Chase for the Championship.
Iowa Speedway officials say tickets purchased for the two-day "Test Fest" will
be honored for the Tuesday and Wednesday, August 28-29, testing dates. In
addition, tickets will remain on sale for next week's testing, with prices at
$20 for a single day ticket and $30 for a 2-day ticket. Children 12 and under
accompanied by a paying adult will be admitted free. Food, beverages, and
merchandise will also be on sale during next week's testing.
Tickets may be purchased by visiting Iowa Speedway's ticket office at 3333 Rusty
Wallace Drive, Newton, Iowa, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; 9:00am-5:00 Saturday;
by calling Iowa Speedway at 1-641-791-8100; at all Ticketmaster outlets; or, by
