Karl Chevrolet Ramps Up Performance Parts Business by: Chuck Stowe ANKENY, IA, (Nov 14) – Karl Chevrolet, one of the nation’s leaders in new and pre-owned Chevrolet vehicle sales is now powering, head on, into the GM Performance Parts business. “We have always stocked GM Performance Parts, but the opportunity has presented itself to pursue these parts sales more vigorously with all that is going on in the Performance, Custom Car, Hot Rod and Racing Industries,” said Fixed Operations Manager, Bob Massey. Parts Manager for the Ankeny-based dealer, Jason Roach, said it was just a matter of time before owner Carl Moyer jumped head first into the Performance Parts business. “Carl has always been an avid race fan, fierce competitor, and all around car enthusiast. It only makes sense that he wants to become a leader in the sales of GM Performance Parts.” With plans of continued support of sanctioning bodies like the Iowa-based IMCA, whose sanctioned race divisions utilize GM Performance Parts and Crate Engines, Mr. Moyer hired a former Karl Chevrolet employee, Chuck Stowe. Mr. Stowe will promote and raise the awareness of the over-the-counter, cost-effective crate engines and performance parts that are available at the dealership. Mr. Stowe will work closely with race-sanctioning organizations operating in the circle track and drag racing arenas – as well as with owners and operators of motor sports venues – in an effort to inform high performance customers and competitors of the economic value, quality, and performance of the parts available from Karl Chevrolet and GM Performance Parts. While Stowe brings years of experience in competition, marketing, and public relations related to circle track racing, he will also work to raise awareness of the value of GM Performance Parts in the Custom Car, Street Rod, and Hot Rod communities. In the short term, Mr. Stowe will represent Karl Chevrolet at the upcoming events like the IMCA National Awards Banquet. Karl Chevrolet Crate Engine Racing is the National Sponsor of the IMCA Northern SportMod division. From there, Mr. Stowe will represent Karl Chevrolet at the 35th Annual RPM Promoter Work Shops and the 20th Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, where he’ll work side by side with GM Performance representatives promoting Karl Chevrolet as a supplier of GM Performance Parts. In November, Mr. Stowe is scheduled to meet with multiple race organizations interested in reducing the cost of race engines – and reducing the necessary time spent on engine maintenance – while increasing the longevity of race engines for their competitors.
