Kaplan and Sather Make it a Double, Double

ANKENY, IA (May 16) - Friday night, May 16th was another special night
for the Kaplan – Sather family as cousins Austin Kaplan and Kevin Sather
both doubled up on feature wins. Both Kaplan and Sather won their feature
events, competing in the IMCA / Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod division
for the second week in a row. In addition to their feature winning pay,
Kaplan and Sather will again receive a $100 “Award Certificate” from IMCA
Northern SportMod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet.
On Friday night, Kaplan earned his second feature event win in a row and
another trip to victory lane, at the famed half mile Iowa State Fair
Speedway. Competing against a strong field of IMCA SportMod drivers, Kaplan
competed in his Victory Chassis / Karl Chevrolet GM Performance Parts 602
Crate Engine powered SportMod. An added bonus for Kaplan was, GM Performance
Parts - Special Projects Manager, Bill Martens was on hand to witness his
victory.
Also, for the second week in a row, on the same night, at the Marshalltown
Speedway, Sather won his, second in a row, feature event of the 2008 season
on the high banked, 1/4 mile Speedway located on the Central Iowa
Fairgrounds. Sather was racing his Karl Chevrolet GM Performance Parts 602
Crate Engine powered / Victory Chassis SportMod.
In addition to his two feature wins in a row at Marshalltown, Sather also
won the Karl Chevrolet, IMCA Northern SportMod feature on Sunday, May 11th
at the historic Stuart Speedway located in Stuart, IA. For his efforts,
Sather will receive his third $100 “Award Certificate” from IMCA Northern
SportMod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet.
Along with their IMCA SportMod Title Sponsorship, Karl Chevrolet also awards
any IMCA SportMod competitor who wins a feature event using a GM Performance
Parts 602 Crate Engine purchased through Karl Chevrolet, with a contingency
“Award Certificate” valued at $100.
