Moro Becomes Fourth DTRA Feature Winner in as Many Weeks

ANKENY, IA (May 23) – Tony Moro becomes the fourth different feature winner, in as many nights of racing, in the DTRA Series at the Iowa State Fair Speedway. Moro, who also won his heat race, marks the third straight feature win for trucks powered by the GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine. The win was not an easy one for Moro as he and second place finisher, Mike Todd would trade some paint and swap positions in nearly each turn of the half mile speedway starting on lap six, to the end of the feature. At the checkered flag, Moro’s margin of victory was about three feet. 98 - Bret Moyer would finish third, 33 - Bob Murray was fourth and the 03 truck of Ed Nelson rounded out the top five.

Moro is one of four DTRA trucks currently competing with the GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine, and for his efforts, he will receive a $100 “Award Certificate” from DTRA Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet. Other DTRA drivers who currently compete with the Crate Engine, and qualify for the contingency awards, are Bret Moyer - #98, Carl Moyer - #3 and Matt Moro - #2M. With three of four feature wins now going to the GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engines, more DTRA drives are considering them. The power to win is only one of several advantages these durable, economical and low maintenance Crate Engines provide.

The DTRA Truck Series has provided fans with some of the most exciting racing action, in the first four weeks of racing, at the Iowa State Fair Speedway. An early season DTRA point battle has the top three positions separated by a total of two points while the top ten positions are separated by only twenty-five points.

Karl Chevrolet is one of the leading suppliers in the country for GM Performance Parts and GM Performance Parts Crate Engines used by sanctioning bodies, racing organizations and independent race tracks across the country. These durable, economical engines are built and sealed at the factory by General Motors to prevent any expensive modifications. GM Performance Parts 602 and 604 crate engines continue to provide the necessary power and reliability to take championship caliber drivers to victory lane.

In addition to their DTRA contingency and Title Sponsorship, Karl Chevrolet currently offers all competitors who win a feature event using a GM Performance Parts 602 or 604 Crate Engine, purchased through Karl Chevrolet, the $100 contingency “Award Certificate”
