It’s Back to Work for Brett Moffitt GRIMES, IA (July 21) – After taking a well deserved weekend off, it will be back to work for ASA Late Model Series driver, Brett Moffitt. Making history last week, Moffitt at 15 years old became the youngest driver ever to compete in the prestigious “Slinger Nationals” for super late models in its 29 year history But now, it is back to work for Moffitt and the 5K Motorsports team this weekend. Moffitt and the 5K Motorsports team's racing schedule will start with a super late model race at the Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, WI on Thursday night, July 24th. Moffitt will climb into the super late model seat for the third time in as many weeks, using this event to gain valuable experience and the necessary seat time to continue his climb up the proverbial ladder, chasing the dream of becoming a professional stock car driver. Then, on Friday and Saturday nights, Moffitt and his 5K team will return to their roots of asphalt racing, competing with the ASA Late Model North Series during the 2008 edition of the “Battle of the Borders”. The first night of the two-night challenge will be held on Friday night, July 25th, at Madison International Speedway, located in Oregon, WI. Night two of the battle will take place on Saturday, July 26th, and will be hosted by the Rockford Speedway, Rockford, IL. Moffitt and crew will be intensely focused on the Friday and Saturday night ASALMS events, with great expectations of moving Moffitt up in the ASA Late Model North Series point standings. Moffitt, who is currently in third place and climbing, and the 5K Motorsports team have set their sights on the top spot that is currently held by ASALMS veteran, Eddie Hoffman. Moffitt is also currently the leading contender for the ASA Late Model North Series “Rookie of the Year”.
