Boeckman wins pole start for Saturday Hobby Stock main

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1) – Andy Boeckman will start from the pole Saturday night, in his quest for a fourth IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals Hobby Stock championship.

Already the owner of 2003, 2005 and 2007 titles, Boeckman won the first qualifying feature Monday night at Boone Speedway to earn the inside row one start.
Tim Rupp will take the green flag from the front of the middle row, after lead¬ing flag to flag in Monday’s second qualifier.

Lining up behind Boeckman will be Beau Kaplan, Kyle Timmerman, Nyle Godwin, Robby Marsh, Terry Shaffar, Randy Roberts, Kyle Robinson and Pat Mather.
Shannon Anderson gave up an eighth place finish in hopes of securing a better starting spot Tuesday; Leonard Loftus was disqualified from ninth place after failing to report to post-race tech.

Second on back in the middle row will be Travis Prochaska, Chris Luloff, Kenneth Hansen, Brandon Pruitt, Ron Manthey, Josh Irvine, Alan Van Gorp and Tim Wilcox.

Marsh, Robinson, Rupp, Prochaska, Manthey and Van Gorp all made the feature field for the first time. Kaplan, Timmerman, Roberts, Luloff, Pruitt and Ir¬vine each made their second career shows.

Third-time qualifiers are Godwin, Hansen and Wilcox. Mather qualified for his career fourth main event, Boeckman and Shaffar each for their fifth.
Opening night car county for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks was 136, half a dozen ahead of the total for 2007. Entries came from eight states.
Last-chance races and a final qualifier will determine the outside row of nine tonight.
