Davenport Speedway Track Champions to be honored at Spooktacular V DAVENPORT, IA (Sept 23) – This Saturday, Setember 27th, the 5th Annual Spooktacular stock car race will take to the quarter-mile dirt oval of the Davenport Speedway. Prior to the running of the Spooktacular, a ceremony will be held honoring the Davenport Speedway 2008 Track Champions and top ten point finishers, in each class. Track champions for the 2008 season are: IMCA Late Model - Mike Murphy Jr., Pro Modified - Bob Dominacki, Street Stock - Jeremy Marquette, B-Mod - Kelly Meyer, INEX Legend Car - Dennis Begyn, 4 Stock - Wade Dahl. This year the Spooktacular is promoted by DRT TRAK Racing Inc. The event will again be highlighted by a $1,000 to-win,4-Stock, 50-lap feature, sponsored by CrashedToys.com. Also racing at this year's Spooktacular will be Pro Modifieds ($750 to-win), B-Modifieds ($500 to-win), and Street Stocks ($250 to-win). All classes will use a draw-redraw format. Weekly DRT TRAK rules will be strictly enforced. Event information and class rules are available on the internet, "www.drttrak.com". For this event only, the pit gates open at 3 p.m. Hot laps are set for 5 p.m. and racing for 5:30 p.m. The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa.
