GRIMES, IA (May 11) - 2009 NASCAR Camping World Series East rookie competitor, Brett Moffitt, announces the launch of his recently re-designed web site this week. The new design features a scrolling message line for the latest information on Brett, Brett’s 2009 Camping World East Stats, Brett’s Biography and Accomplishments, information about Brett’s Andy Santerre Motorsports team, Brett’s 2009 Racing Schedule, an Archive of past and present News, a Moffitt Race Gear page, a Moffitt Fan Club information page, and a Media page containing photos from Brett’s racing, both past and present. The new web site release was scheduled in conjunction with this week’s Camping World Series East/ West event taking place at Brett’s home track, Iowa Speedway, this Sunday, May 17th. “I am really excited about returning to the Iowa Speedway”, commented the young Moffitt. “I raced there last year in the ASA Late Model Challenge Series. It was my first time on the track, and I really liked the speed there. Last year’s race come to an end for us when another competitor made contact with us, sending us into the turn four wall. I had started seventeenth and at half way, I was racing for seventh and was really comfortable in the car. It was disappointing that the crash ended our day so early”, Brett concluded. This year, Brett will be out to avenge last year’s run. Dick Moffitt, Brett’s father, recently commented on how blessed Brett has been in his short racing career. “He has been surrounded with support from the local business community. He has a growing fan base, and there have been many who have helped get Brett to where he is today”, Dick commented. After an amazing rookie asphalt season in 2008, during the off season, Moffitt inked a deal with four time Camping World East Series Champion, now car owner, Andy Santerre of Andy Santerre Motorsports. Right out of the box, Moffitt put his name in the NASCAR record books, by becoming the youngest driver in the NASCSAR CWSE history to sit on the pole. The pole came during Moffitt’s first CWSE event on April 11th at the historic Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Greenville, SC, and it eclipses a record set by another NASCAR up-and-comer, Joey Logano. Moffitt finished that first event running 5th, competing in a star studded NASCAR field. Two weeks later Moffitt proved that he would be a viable contender by qualifying the ASM prepared Chevrolet in 5th place at Tri-County Speedway, Hudson, NC. Unable to avoid an early race incident, in what ended up being something of a crash fest, Moffitt would salvage a 23rd place finish, only one lap down, after spending considerable time on pit road for necessary repairs to the car. “Andy and the crew did all they could to get the car back on the track. They were just as dedicated to finishing the race and gaining as many points as possible as I was”, commented Moffitt at the end of the day. “I can’t wait to race at home, in front of my home town crowd and supporters,” Moffitt stated, commenting about the upcoming NASCAR CWSE/W at the Iowa Speedway.
