BROOKLYN, IA (May 11, 2010) - Brooklyn Raceway opened May 8th with 96 race teams present from Iowa and Illinois. The temperature was extremely cold but the racing action was HOT. There was a lot of new paint being exchanged at Brooklyn Raceway “The Figure Eight Capital of the World.” When the four classes of Figure Eight cars raced through their heats they ended up with Stock A Main 1st –#79 Luke Archer, 2nd #68 Ben Franklin and 3rd #7R Bill Roush. For the first time ever in nine years at the at the Brooklyn Raceway, we had a car start in the C Main winning and moving to the tail of the B Main, then advancing to the A Main to take the overall win of the Pro Stock class. The hard charging driver with this success was car #4 driven by Chris Hash of Brooklyn. Promoters Archie and Sally Kuntz said that really puts the crowd on their feet. 2nd place went to #76 Don Wauters and 3rd #55 Pat Zimmerman. When the A Main Open Class hit the track you felt the ground shake and after twelve laps of high horsepower rubbing it went to 1st #76 Don Wauters, 2nd 3DThomas Stevens, and 3rd #1X Michael Peterson. Other results were the F.W.D. 1st #51 Bryce Bailey, 2nd K12 Cody Swanson, 3rd #62 Jeff Arment. Two man Cruisers 1st #59 Roth/Strong, 2nd #5H Hurst/Heishman and 3rd #62 Tuttle/Tuttle. The Senior Class went to 1st 13X Wayne Webert, 2nd #39X Ed Kasperbauer, and 3rd #49 Dan Patton. Legend Car 1st #77 Warren Ropp, 2nd #91 Matt Montieth, 3rd #12 Chad Hale. Mini Sprints 1st #76 Brad Comegys, 2nd #14 Ryan Repp, and 3rd #80X Cody Sage.
