McKenna, Smith, Gill Gansen, Schneider, Kelly Take Opening Night Victories at Farley

FARLEY, IOWA (May 21, 2010) - Charley McKenna grabbed the lead from the pole and lead the twenty five lap IMCA late model feature from flag to
flag here at the farley speedway on opening night of the 2010 racing season here Friday night. The fourteen year racing veteran and fourth in a late model won his first feature in two years ending a long dry spell for the Clear Lake, Iowa native. His hot rod was fast all night as he won his heat race also. Jim Brokus placed second in the A-Main, Andy Eckrich was third, Jeremiah Hurst fourth, Terry Neal fifth, Jon Merfeld sixth, Luke Goedert seventh, Dale Hackwell eighth. Aaron Luke ninth, with Clint Wendell tenth.

Starting on the pole veteran driver Rich Smith from Davenport survived several cautions throught to win the twenty lap IMCA open wheel modified feature event leading it in its entirety. Smith chalked up $ 500 for his efforts. The modified division will now be sanctioned IMCA for the rest of the season here at Farley. Smith who also won his heat race, was followed across the line by Patrick Flanigan in second, Jerry Luloff third, Jason Seegmiller fourth, Leon Wilson fifth, Matt Stagman sixth, Kelly Meyer seventh, Toby Hartman eighth, Cory Bauer ninth, with Clint Wendell rounding out the top ten. Kelly Meyer won the other IMCA modified heat race.

Greg Gill grabbed the lead on the first lap and never looked back as he went on to win the twelve lap stock car feature leading from flag to flag. The win for Gill was his fourth in five races that he has entered this season, for the Muscatine native. J ohn Poll was second, Austin Heathcock third, Matt Miller fourth, Doug Yates fifth, Bud Kaizer sixth, Charley Nesteby seventh, David Hedrick eight, Alan Hansen ninth with Travis Nesteby tenth. Cory Rupp and Greg Gill posted stock car heat race wins.

Matt Gansen led the twelve lap b-mod feature from flag to flag for his first victory of the season.Kenny Boers was second, Jeff Willis third, Tyler Soppe fourth, with Jed Freiburger fifth. Jed Freiburger won the b-mod heat race.

Tim Schneider lead the limited stock featurte from flag to flag for his first win of the season. Ryan Federman was second, Dalton Soppe third, with Hope Schmerebach fourth,Tim Schneider also won the limited stock heat race.

Tyler Kelly grabbed the lead on the resart on lap six and lead the remaining four laps to win the ten lap flyer feature for his first win here at farley. The Parnell, Iowa native saw Pat Quinn finished second.

Lenny Oendyck third, Rob Miller fourth, twelve year old Haley Roth fifth with Brandon Beschen sixth. Tyler Kelly had a perfect night as he won his heat race also.

Racing action resumes here at the Farley Speedway next Friday night May 28th in the IMCA LATE MODEL, IMCA MODIFIED, along with the stock car, b-modified, flyer, and limited stock divisions. Hot laps at 7 with racing at 730 in all 6 divisions here at the Farley Speedway.
