Brooklyn Raceway "The Figure Eight Capital of the World"
by:  Archie Kuntz

BROOKLYN, IA (May 24) - As the gates opened for round 2 of Extreme Dirt Racing Series, the temperature heated up 50 degrees over the first night and so did the  racing action. As the pits filled up with 92 races teams, so did the grandstands for what some said was "the best night of racing action in the nine years Brooklyn Raceway has been open."

The track was very wet and slippery for hot laps and some of the heats. As the sun went down and the wind kept blowing the track became very heavy and sticky. This gave the drivers some of the fastest times ever.

The Front Wheel drivers had a very strong field with some of the fastest  cars in that class to ever race here at Brooklyn. Next the Stock Class with 20 cars was one of their best nights of racing. The Pro-Stock is one of the closest watched groups here at the track, because the cars are becoming equally matched.

Next those wild two man Cruisers just keep getting faster at each show here at the track. Saturday night was the first time the mini Sprints put their wings on and what a show they gave the crowd. They turned the fastest times ever run at Brooklyn Raceway. Some of their fans, said "it was the best race they had ever run anywhere."

Then came the high horse powered outlaw open class cars, they wow you every race with such great driving skills and some of the biggest engines in dirt track racing. They provide the best racing action you will ever see in motor sports.

Then the evening started to close when the Senior Division came on the track with a great race to close the night.
